Corrosion is the bugbear of the offshore angler's life, as it still bothers even those who are meticulous with their gear maintenance and preparation. Using stainless steel solves the problem to some extent, but when it comes to light yet strong hooks with small diameter for better penetration, Owner knows that high carbon hooks are a far better choice. Of course, corroded points can be a problem, but not with Rustop. Rustop serves as a sacrificial anode that attracts rust, yet protects the hook point at the same time. Rustop is available in two inch by four inch strips, is easily cut to size and affixed to a hook. If using Owner Jobu's, just remove the finish where it is to be affixed for better contact.
