MPL-BDOG - Marlin Magic - Big Dog

In Australia's more temperate waters, it requires real commitment to forsake the mid-range striped and black marlin action that smaller lures attract and commit to trolling 14-16 inch lures, but if that much sought-after grander Blue marlin is ever going to be caught here, this is precisely what has to be done. And the following Marlin Magic lures selected by Black Pete are the very plugs you should be trolling. An up-scaled version of Big Dog, Super Dog really rips and is versatile enough to be run anywhere in the lure spread, but like its younger brother probably does its best work in close. Try running the two of them as a short flat/long flat combination! Like Super Dog, XXL Ruckus is another scaled-up lure in the Marlin Magic Range, this time based on the sensational Ruckus. The fourth in the series - Henry - is named after Henry 'Butch' Chee - one of Kona's pioneering skippers and a noted lure maker in his own right. With its heavy head and sharp cut face, Henry would make a classic short corner lure, but it can be expected to perform well wherever you choose to swim it. Finally, the Bog Eye is a relatively new addition to the Marlin Magic stable and its bubble-like head shape gives this lure an amazing shimmy at standard troll speeds, but goes absolutely mental at higher speeds on calm days. Needless to say lures of these dimensions should be trolled on 60 kilo tackle, and 37 kilo at a pinch

An excellent lure on large Australian Blues. This lure is a must in your spread when targeting large marlin, especially Blues.
